COURSE OUTLINE:

This course examines theoretical and ethnographic discussions relating to the human body, mind, and wellbeing in diverse social and cultural contexts. Topics covered may include body modification and adornment, mind-body relations, anthropological approaches to mental health, identity and personhood, and disability.

Format: Seminar

EVALUATION:  Participation, presentations, seminar discussions, in-class workshops and activities, mid-term exam, & final take-home exam
